OBJECTIVE: I am seeking a position as an Anchor/Reporter with an aggressive news organization. EXPERIENCE: 2003- Present: Morning and Midday Anchor/Consumer Reporter, WPTY/WLMT – Memphis, TN I anchor three hours of news in the morning and a one hour newscast at lunch time. I bring spontaneity, personality and a lot of ad-libbing to the newscast. I also do a weekly consumer franchise called “Renters Rights”. The segment documents landlord and tenant issues and puts legal perspective to them. 2001-2003: Morning Live Reporter/Midday Anchor, WFIE – Evansville, IN I delivered live reports during the morning newscast and was the primary fill in anchor for that newscast. I also anchored the midday newscast. 1999 – 2001: General Assignment Reporter, WTVR - Richmond, VA I delivered daily live reports and cultivated contacts in the community. I excelled at developing story ideas. 1997 – 1999: General Assignment Reporter, WRDW - Augusta, GA I delivered daily live reports and cultivated contacts in the community. 1996 – 1997: Reporter/Photographer, KETK - Longview/Tyler, TX I was a one man band reporter/photographer at the Longview Bureau. Education: Universities of Maryland at College Park B.A. - Broadcast Journalism with a minor in French B.A. - German Language and Culture Universities of Maryland, Munich/Augsburg, Germany A.A. - General Studies Honors: 2005 - Tennessee AP "Best Reporter" 2005,2006 - Emmy Award Nominee for "Renters Rights" 2007 - NABJ Regional Award winner "Renters Rights" |
