Lead Reporter in Waco Bureau, enterprise stories, cover Police and Courthouse Beat, write stories, edit tape to tape a few times a week, 2 to 3 daily live shots, usually one package and two vo/sots a day or three to four vo/sots a day, write new scripts for the following shows of the day and the next morning, required to fill out follow-up or story idea sheets at end of every day.

Attend daily meetings to discuss what each reporter will be assigned and the stories our newscast will include. When working the assignments desk, I assign stories to each reporter and photographer that they will cover for the day. In charge of the assignments desk on the weekend evening shifts. The job also includes coming up with story ideas and maintaining contact with the community on upcoming events. Continuously in charge of news gathering on the weekends. Communicate with CNN on a daily basis to find out what stories affiliates are covering that we may be interested in. Share with CNN our stories of the day and book satellite and fiber windows for our live shots. Writing in broadcast style for the news and writing in print style for the News 8 Web site. Go out with reporters in field and field produce. Act as photographer for reporters when needed. Shoot. write and edit vosots on a weekly basis. Once a week, my Websightings air on News 8 Austin, which feature interesting Web sites. This has given me on-air experience and helped sharpen my on-air skills. I am in charge of coordinating in-studio interviews. I set up the interviews and produce the show. I contact the interviewing anchor and give them background information. I then greet the guest, oversee the interview and decide when it should air, covered elections including Presidential election.
